TO OUR DESERT PEDIATRICS FAMILY

We at Desert Pediatrics would like to confirm that we are committed to being available to help all of our patients during this difficult time of COVID-19.  We are remaining open, although there may be modified hours to accommodate the need.  We are reviewing policies constantly while following Center for Disease Control, Southern Nevada Health District and American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines.  All of this is in an effort to keep our patients and staff healthy and safe.

Please note:

  1.  Children will be seen by appointment only. Please call 702-641-2150 option 4 to schedule.
  2. We screen patients by phone and if there are concerns for COVID-19, travel or exposure, a provider (MD or Nurse Practitioner) will contact the parent to do a more extensive phone interview.  If a family is considered to be high risk for COVID-19, they are referred to a testing center and are not seen in the office.
  3. Children should be accompanied to appointment by one adult and no other siblings or family members.
  4. Please sanitize hands upon entering the office.
  5. If your child is coughing or sneezing, ask the front desk if a mask is available.  At this time there is a shortage of masks and at the guidance of the CDC, the use of tissues to cover the nose and mouth is recommended.  There are hands free trash receptacles to dispose of used tissues.
  6. We always strive to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the offices.  Extra precautions have been put in place during this COVID-19 crisis to minimize the exposure to germs and provide a safe environment.
  7. The American Academy of Pediatrics still recommends keeping children on their routine vaccination schedule.  This is to prevent the future problem of a mass amount of children being non vaccinated as a result of this pandemic.  This could result in an outbreak of preventable diseases as we resume our normal activities.  Please keep your well visit appointments to maintain your fully vaccinated status.

These are difficult times for everyone.  We all have the responsibility to help reduce transmission and protect our vulnerable population.  If you have any further questions, please contact the office.
